Bone Structure Autumn Winter 2011 Collection

For my BA Hons Graduate Final Major Project i have decided to create a capsule collection based on the bone structure of the human body.
I have taken influence from x-ray and scan images and incorporated them into advanced pattern cutting skills and design development.
Please see below my final collection.

Mary Katrantzou who?

I have just seen Mary Katrantzou s/s 2011 collection and i don't say this very often but it is OUTSTANDING.
Ive never really notices her on my radar before and with this being her first stand alone show she has seriously made her mark and i think she is one to watch!

With this modern age of digital printing fashion has been able to go to new levels. These garments are works of art showing images of buildings and interiors cleverly put together on structures garments.
At a first glance you see these fabulous patterned fabrics but with a closer look you see the detail on these images.

Perfectly formed structured dresses and lampshade style skirts with fringing.

"With this collection, I wanted to put the room on the woman, rather than the woman in the room," Katrantzou said after the show.

How fabulous is London Fashion Week so far i cannot get over how much 70's inspired designs i have seen but i can positivly say i love it! and i cannot wait to delve into the delights of these era.

I would just liek to start with a little shout out to Henry Holland as you all know i adore his styling and his s/s 2011 collection is just right up my street.

those little key details he uses are what keeps him on top with the high street trends. With pom pom earrings and metalic bow belts he is sure to be a hit with the highstreet.

The main 70's influence i could see in this collection was his pleated skirts. Such a classic style skirt but given a revamp by using metalic fabrics. A plum purple and a popping blue really give them a modern twist.

i love this dress such a elegant way of using fringing without it looking garish definate trend here!

long time no speak!

its been absolutely forever since i updated my blog and i am really really realllyyyyy sorry.
I finally managed to finish my foundation degree yey! and have had lots on with Hull Fashion Alliance!

we have just done a fashion and beauty fair in aid of Youth Enterprise and helped raise a load of money!
we also did a radio interview with WHCR! which was fab! bit nervous when i was speaking haha

We are now onto our next task!

weve had a few ideas such as setting up an online store for you all to purchase off! what do you think?

we have also been approached to organise a charity fashion show black tie event so all your girlies can look fabulous and feel great while seeing what local designers in Hull have to offer!

also looking into setting up a magazine.

and also trying to have a fun summer!

Zara's May lookbook

So as we all know Zaraa doesnt have an online shop with is a proper bummer! but we doo get to have a little sneaky peak at whats on offer and i must say i was very impressed with the may look book.

Yes it does have some copies of theMiu Miu collection but isnt this what we love about highstreet? getting the look for a fraction of the price?
this is debatable but i wont go into it tehehehe

i have one dissapointing fact though the peter pan collar on the cat print dress doesnt come with the dress!

its the best part about it and i dont even know if they are going to sell them!

but a little DIY tip for you! you can buy lace collars from haberdashery shops or Boyes if you live in yorkshire and just attach them on yourself!

ooo oooo ooooh!

and while im here get down to boots and buy 2 bottles of diet cokes because if you do you get a free Nail Inc nail polish!

Hello again!

Hey guys sorry its been a while ive got 6 outfits to make for my fashion show in three weeks! very very stressed and time is running out but to be honest if i had all the time in the world it wouldnt be right. Stressing gets your working tehehe.

Ive also been asking around for interships and work experience and the lovely people at British Style Bloggers have given me an internship! i am so very please and think they are the nicest people ever! so i will keep you inform on that when i start in july.

Ive also for a weeks work experience at my local newspaper to get a little insight into the way it runs and works and stuff. im a little nervous about it but it will all be good in the end!

sooooo this weeks little number is my plan for a wedding i am going to in a months time. I rummaged around theoutnet.com the perfect place for discount deisgner but you have to act quick cause POUF! and its GONE!

i got this lovely little anna sui dress! with 50% off i couldnt say no and i know im going to wear it again and again and again for all kinds of occassion!

im going to dress a little different cause im not into the whole formal thing! i want to team it with some heeled ankle boots and socks!
get a little bow in my hair and make it a bit more me

i really dont know what bag to use!

MILLITARY ACTION

After looking about for different looks i have come to liek to millitary look i very rarely wear trousers but i think i should give this look ago! i might look mature and my age for one!
i put this outfit together from Zara and i really like it! i mixed it up a little by added in to pink tone but still kept it milltary with the structure and shape.

I feel the key points to consider when going for the millitary look is:
keep it structured - Look for shoulder shape and nipped in at the waist to give it a female edge.
Tailored - the more tailored the better!
shoes - make them high high high is going for a serious power look empower the female form and work it baby!
